      Technical Quality Manager (2102803)-Port Arthur, TX

      Where the Chemistry Happens

      We are seeking a professional like you, to manage and provide leadership for both our Online Process and Laboratory Quality Services functions at the Port Arthur site. You will provide Operations, Customers, Logistics, Terminals and Business-level laboratory and product support, process analyzer support and additional analytical services for a large, complex Olefins Site which will include the need to actively participate in Cracker/C4 Technology Exchanges (both internal and external) to support and document new/improved BASF/TOTAL/Industry Technologies applicable to the Port Arthur Site.

      Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

      Formula for Success

      • Your education in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and your previous work experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is required and will enable you to seamlessly interact with multiple levels of Site, Business and Functional leadership in the support of Corporation's and Business Units' customer and quality requirements and objectives.
      • Your experience and knowledge of instrumental methods of analysis such as Gas Chromatography (GC) will allow you to provide oversight of laboratory supplies, equipment, and/or services.
      • Your strong strategic and analytical skills will allow the continuous improvement of analytical efficiencies to the supported Operations and Business Units as well as understanding supported area technologies and participation in technology exchanges
      • Your leadership experience will allow you to implement a High-Performance Organization within the team by training, coaching, evaluating performance, administers compensation programs, seeks career development opportunities, and plans personnel successions as well as foster the integration of a diversity of perspectives across the organization resulting in development of high performing teams and output.
      • You will ensure proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements, and maintain current requirements as to equipment/materials specifications.
      • You will ensure alignment between Laboratory Services, process resources amp; Business Unit as to goals, objectives, strategies, amp; initiatives.
      • You will maintain the quality systems that contain all necessary product identification and quality information.
      • Your participation in the development of capital projects ensures that projects technical objectives for analyzers are achieved and in compliance to corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
      • Your effective communication skills will serve you well as you seek compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment.
