      Web Developer- Top secret security clearance

      Aptive is seeking a full-time Web Developer to lead industry engagement in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate.
      Tasks may include performing web development, computer programing and database integration; supporting data collection, statistical analysis and visualization of progress towards achieving objectives; articulating and assisting the customer with defining and refining product requirements; and supporting S&T Communications & Outreach Division (COD). This individual will be responsible for supporting multiple websites, SharePoint pages and portals that contain information in support of the organization's goals. This candidate should excel at using programming languages and design programs to successfully complete their work.

      This position requires strong customer interaction skills and a demonstrated ability to work with various stakeholders across multiple tasks. The Web Developer will review and organize website content based on the aesthetic, functional, strategic and technical criteria established by the client. They work with clients, customers and content developers to reorganize and revise content as needed based on a shared understanding of business needs and the needs of the audience groups. They use audits, data, research and technical skill to deliver a user-friendly online and mobile experience. Additional responsibilities include supporting an internal resource toolkit and SharePoint site.

      This mid-level, full-time position is primarily located onsite at DHS locations in Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA, though temporary telework will be available during COVID-19. This is a contingent hire position.

      MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS.

      • 8 years of relevant experience, including full front end and back end web development for both public and intranet sites.
      • 3-5 years of experience in web development, serving as the internet expert and Webmaster with experience developing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive Internet programs.
      • Must have expert knowledge of the Drupal CMS.
      • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other related field.
      • Active top secret security clearance.
      • Experience supporting large federal agencies.
      • Authorized to work in the U.S.

      JOB DUTIES.

      • Work involves the technical planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and management of Internet and intranet activities (including other computer-based visual media).
      • Work includes systems and application development, installation, configuration, implementation, and technical management of websites.
      • Knowledge of computer and networking with applications, principles, concepts, and methods is required.
      • Stays abreast of latest developments in website tools and technology and implements these new developments on DHS S&T website, www.dhs.gov/science-and-technology.
      • Conduct usability audit and support development of a more user-friendly interface.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve content migration errors.
      • Review and update missing content, images, links and other information impacting the user experience or search engine optimization.
      • Add or adjust audience pages to better target information to specific audiences.
      • Use web data analytics and digital tools to improve overall performance.
      • Maintain and refine internal toolkit and SharePoint sites.
      • Track, quality check and resolve all web updates for review with the client on a regular basis.
      • Make proactive recommendations to improve the user experience and campaign performance.
